Security
Systems are designed to detect intrusion (or other emergencies),
sound an alert, and send a signal to a 24-hour
central monitoring station for the dispatch of the proper
authorities.
-
Although
security systems promotional offers may appear to be the same,
they rarely are. The differences are most easily understood
if we start with what is called a Basic System.
-
A
Basic System must include door contacts on all your home’s
doors, as well as an interior trap, such as a Motion Detector.
Basic systems rely on a motion detector as a trap to trigger
an alarm event and intruder breaks in through a window.
-
Basic
protection is most effective when your main concern is a break-in
while you’re at home, because
the motion detector has to be switched off.
-
At
Home (expanded) protection can be achieved by using a priority
combination of physical window contacts and glass break sensors
that will work while you move about your house.
-
Total Protection is achieved by protecting every (accessible)
window or door. This level or protection gives you the highest
security no matter if you are home or away.
-
Once you decide on the level of protection you want, you will
have to decide between a Wireless or Hardwired System
